MANUFACTURE OF OPTICAL MEDIUM, LASER DEVICE AND OPTICAL AMPLIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a fiber laser output, while facilitating its manufacturing. SOLUTION: The surface of an optical fiber composed of a doped core 27 and a fiber clad 28 is covered previously with a thermoplastic resin 25 transmitting a pumping light, and a laser fiber 23 is formed. The laser fiber 23 is wound into a spiral shape. The resin 25 is heated and cured, thereby forming an optical medium in which the fiber 23 is mutually fusion-welded integrally. A plurality of lens ducts 21 with pumping light LDs which introduce pumping light in the dope core 27 via the resin 25 and the fiber clad 28 are fixed on the outer peripheral part of the spiral type optical medium. An output lead-out fiber 20 leading out an amplified laser light is fixed to one end portion of the laser fiber 23. A reflecting mirror 22 reflecting a laser light is fixed to the other end portion.
