CARBON BLACK WITH HIGH ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE AND RUBBER COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject carbon black capable of providing a rubber with relatively high-level electrical resistance while maintaining its reinforcing ability when compounded in the rubber, and to obtain the other subject rubber composition for high electrical resistance by compounding the above carbon black. SOLUTION: This carbon black has a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (N2SA) of 523 m2/g and integrated particle hardness (IPH) of <=9 cN and satisfies the following relationship for its DBP oil absorption (mL/100 g) : DBP>=10×N2SA-100. The other objective rubber composition for high electrical resistance is obtained by compounding 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component with 20-300 pts.wt. of the above carbon black.
