PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a sure rotation detection method of the rotor of a stepping motor and realize a clock with high accuracy in time by applying the method to an electronic clock. SOLUTION: In a stepping motor 11 having a rotor with a permanent magnet, a stator 2 consisting of a soft magnetic material forming a magnetic path, a drive coil 3 wound around the stator 2, a drive circuit 4 generating drive pulse and a control part 6 provided with a detection circuit 5 detecting the rotation of the rotor 1, the drive coil end is made in open state from the time of ending of the drive pulse impressing to the time of initiation of the rotation detection pulse impressing. |
