PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding method by which two pipe ends are welded in an open root having a space between the ends with STT (R) electric arc welding machine in pipe welding industry. SOLUTION: A welding wire to be used contains 0.06-0.15 wt.% carbon, 0.90-1.40 wt.% manganese, 0.45-0.75 wt.% silicon, and phosphorous, copper, stainless steel alloy and sulfur, and the sulfur is kept at a prescribed percentage level within a specific range of 0.15-0.035 wt.% and the phosphorus is kept at a prescribed percentage level within a specific range of about not more than 0.015 wt.%. |
