PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a driver to discriminate guidance information easily by controlling guidance information to be outputted on the basis of the continuity of each intersection at the time when a plurality of intersections which require guidance are continuous. SOLUTION: A CPU 4 first performs initialization processing and reads a navigation program from CD-ROM, and stores it in flash memory, and activates the program. Then the present location of a motor vehicle is detected by a present location detecting device 2 to display its peripheral map with the present location as its center on a display and to display the name of the present location, etc. Next, a destination is set through the use of target names such as place names, facility names, etc., and a route from the present location to the destination is searched. Route guidance and display are performed until the destination is reached as tracking the present location by the present location detecting device 2. Then in the case that three intersections or more are close to each other and continuous, they are displayed on the display in such a way as to be easily understood for a driver according to the distances between the intersections. |
