PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a position reference system which accurately refers to and exchange the relation of positions without any error as a position reference system which refers to and exchanges position information between devices or different map databases. SOLUTION: To transmit position information on a point X from a system 106 to a system 107, a target extracting means 103 extracts targets A, B, C, and D nearby the point X on a map A. The names and coordinates of the extracted targets and the point X to be transmitted are transmitted to the system 107 through a communication means 108. A coordinate transforming means 104 on the system 107 extracts the targets from a map B according to the names of the targets as clues. The coordinate values of the targets A, B, C and D on the map A and those on the map B are generally different. To position the point X to be transmitted on the map B, the positions X1', X2', and X3' of X1' for AB:BX:XA=A'B':B'X1:X1'A', X2' for BC:CX:XB=B'C': C'X2':X2'B', and X3' for CD:DX:XC=C'D':D'X3:X3'C are found. The center of gravity of X1', X2', and X3' is regarded as X' which should be found. This spot X' which is thus found is displayed on a display means 105. |
