PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of miniaturizing a main body, making it light in weight and making the lid of a dust collecting chamber hardly detachable. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with a suction tool 1 for a floor and the main body 2 with a built-in motor connected to the suction tool 1 so as to be freely raised and brought down. The dust collecting chamber is formed inside the suction tool 1 and the lid 9 for opening and closing the dust collecting chamber is provided on the upper surface of the suction tool 1. Further, on a position close to the rear surface of the lid 9 on the upper surface of the suction tool 1, a lid supporting part is provided projectingly upwards.
