PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the pulling force of a recoil rope and to prevent the engine stop caused by the delay of rotation of an engine by comprising a recoil side driving part reciprocatable in interlocking with the recoil rope and a decompressor operating part pushing up a tappet of a valve gear in interlocking with the recoil side driving part. SOLUTION: When a recoil rope 2 is pulled in the Z-direction at the start of an engine, a recoil reel 1 and a large gear 4 are apt to rotate, for example, clockwisely, and a small gear 5 is apt to rotate, for example, anticlockwisely, but the rotations are inhibited by a stopper 7 mounted on a movable arm 6. Whereby the movable arm 6 is totally rotated around a spindle 61, and the small gear 5 is moved along a spindle 5a. Here, the motion of the movable arm 6 is transmitted to a cam moving lever through a decompressor operating rope 3, and a sliding cam is pressed to an exhaust cam, which lifts the tappet and the gas in a cylinder is allowed to escape. Accordingly, the pulling force of the recoil rope can be reduced.
