<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of opening and closing a suction grille easily and safely. SOLUTION: An air conditioner is constituted of a suction grille 2, mounted on the fore part of a front surface panel 1 for an air conditioner main body so as to be capable of being opened and closed freely. In this case, a recessed and projected groove 8, having an arced shape about a pivoting shaft 9 and provided with a saw teeth type recesses and projections 10 formed on the inside one side as well as a curved surface 11 formed on the other side, is formed on at least one side wall of the front panel 1 while a notch body 16, formed of a thin sheet spring integrally with a U-shape elastic unit 18, pushed by the saw teeth type recesses and projections 10 of the recessed and projected groove 8, and a supporting unit 17, abutted against the curved surface 11 of the recessed and projected groove 8, is fixed to at least one side of the suction grille 2. According to this method, when the suction grille 2 is opened or closed, the U-shape elastic unit 18 of the notch body 16 is deformed whereby the notch body 16 overrides the projected parts 12 of the saw teeth type recesses and projections 10 and the grille can be opened and fixed at an arbitrary angle.</p> |
