PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit efficient negative ion supplying simultaneously with the heat exchanging operation of indoor air on the assumption that a negative ion generating device is equipped other than a heat exchanger and a fan. SOLUTION: An indoor unit receives an indoor heat exchanger 5 and an indoor fan 7 in a unit main body to suck indoor air into the unit main body and effect heat exchange with the indoor heat exchanger 5, then send out the same into a room through the indoor fan 7. In this case, a negative ion generating device 17 for generating negative ion to supply the same into the room is arranged in the outlet air sending passage 8 of the indoor fan 7 while the negative ion generating device is constituted so as to receive the generating electrodes 22 of the device into a protective vessel 23.
