摘要 <p>The invention relates to a method for increasing the sugar content in a vegetable selected from amongst fruits and vegetables. Said method involves coating at least part of the surface of said vegetable with a coloring agent in the plant itself so that the amount of solar radiation in the area coated with the coloring agent is increased and biosynthesis of sugars in said fruit or vegetable is promoted. This makes it possible to accelerate the maturing process of the vegetable and to obtain sweeter derived products from said vegetable such as juice. Any alcoholic beverage derived from the juice of said vegetable has an increased alcohol content in comparison with a beverage derived from fruits or vegetables of the same species that have not been treated according to the method disclosed in the invention.</p>
