PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital audio signal transmitter that receives a signal reproduced in a specific way and monitors an audio signal reproduced in the specific way from the received signal. SOLUTION: The digital audio signal transmitter is provided with a frame end detector 6 that generates a frame end pulse from a signal detected by a serial data receiver 5 and with a changeover switch 10 that switches information denoting a reproduction speed and a reproduction direction used for audio reproduction processing, information denoting an output sequence of fields and the frame end pulse. Thus, the digital audio signal transmitter can monitor an audio signal reproduced in the specific way from the received signal by using the information denoting a reproduction speed and a reproduction direction, the information denoting the output sequence of fields and the frame end pulse that are detected from the received signal in the case of receiving serial data reproduced in the specific way.
