PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a regulation work to rotate a fuel injection pump shaft by an inspection machine, to increase holding rigidity of a fuel injection pump gear during regulation of an injection timing, and further to reduce a cost by reduction of the number of parts. SOLUTION: In a fuel injection timing regulating device for a diesel engine to relatively rotate a fuel injection pump based on a fuel injection pump shaft, the fuel injection pump gear is concentrically mounted on a flange-form mounting member, fixed on the fuel injection pump shaft, through a spigot part. A lock part to rotate the fuel injection pump shaft is formed radially internally of the spigot part of the mounting member. In a so formed fuel injection timing regulating device, a pin hole for fixing a gear is formed in the fuel injection pump gear and a recess of thread portion for a pin for fixing a gear engaged with the pin hole of the fuel injection pump gear is formed in the flange-form mounting member fixed on the fuel injection pump shaft.
