PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust silencer device preventing an output of an engine from decreasing and a silencing effect from deteriorating even in an operating condition of a large amount of exhaust from the engine. SOLUTION: An exhaust cleaning catalyst unit 3 is arranged to be opposed to an outlet end 1a of an exhaust pipe 1 through a small clearance G in a main unit case 2 introducing exhaust E from an engine via the exhaust pipe 1. In addition, a bypass passage 8, allowing partly the exhaust E from the outlet end 1a to flow out from the clearance G to make a detour around the catalyst unit 3 to be guided in its downstream, is provided in the main unit case 2.
