The invention relates to a composition for concomitant washing and desinfection of hard surfaces in many fields of activity and to a process for preparing the same. The composition comprises three components A, B and C ; where A contains an anionic surfactant, a non-ionic surfactant, hypo-halogenous compound, a complexing agent, an odoriferous agent and water, B contains an alkaline metal iodide and an organic acid while C contains a mineral or organic acid. According to the process for preparing the said composition, the B component is dissolved in water, in the already obtained solution, the A component is added and the solution is homogenized, and further a quantity of the component C is added to reach a pH of the final solution of 3 to 6 and after adding water for the remainder, a solution comprising 0.1 % active iodine as disinfectant is obtained.
