PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital color copying machine which can detect the alteration of track information stored in a ROM due to exchanging of the ROM and prohibit copying operation. SOLUTION: This copying machine is provided with a ROM storing trace information for preventing forgery, a reloadable nonvolatile memory where trace information for preventing forgery is written, a judging means for judging whether the trace information stored in the ROM coincides with the trace information stored in the nonvolatile memory at the time of supplying power, and a means for putting the copying machine in a copying operation permitting state when both of the information do not coincide with each other and putting the copying machine in a copying operation prohibiting state when both of the information coincide with each other. |
