PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic roller having a low-hardness polyurethane elastic body which has an extremely low hardness without the impairment of a compression permanent set characteristic and has a smooth surface without sticking and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The polyurethane elastic body formed by reacting castor oil-base polyol and polyisocyanate is formed on the outer periphery of a metallic revolving shaft and its surface is heat treated preferably at 70 to 160 deg.C. The resulted roller is hardened to a laminar form on its surface, is made lower in the hardness in the inside to the low hardness of <=45 deg. in the A hardness, is free of sticking and is suitable for electrophotographic applications. |
