PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and its fabrication method are provided to shorten the charging time of liquid crystal cells by reducing signal delay, secure the coating uniformity of an organic passivation layer by coating the organic passivation with thickness less than 1.5 micrometers and minimize the open and contact defects between a transistor and a pixel electrode. CONSTITUTION: The aperture ratio of a liquid crystal pixel cell is increased because the edge of a pixel electrode(50) is superposed with the side of a data line(52) and a gate line(54). At this time, a parasitic capacitance is generated by superposed lines(56a,56b) in the data line(52) and the gate line(54). The thickness and the dielectric constant of an organic passivation layer are restricted so that the liquid crystal cell charges more than 95 percents of video signal within about 1/2 period of gate pulse. Exactly, the thickness of the organic insulator layer, the organic passivation layer, is in the range of 0.8 to 1.5 micrometers so as to minimize the signal delay of the superposed lines(56a,56b).
