PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture reproducing device which is capable of speedily and easily retrieving an object place from a series of picture data constituting a program in particular and is substantially sufficient for actual use. SOLUTION: In a picture reproducing device which divides a series of picture data constituting a program into plural blocks along a time axis, reduces the picture of each block to simultaneously multi-screen-displaying on the same screen and respectively reproduces them, multi-screen display is executed based on the deciding result of a means which executes input among a re-producing time deciding means for deciding a reproducing time of one block by inputting the number of dividing in the direction of the time axis of the program and a dividing number deciding means for deciding the number of dividing in the direction of the time axis of the program by inputting the reproducing time of one block.
