<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color liquid crystal display having almost uniform film thickness as 1 to 2μm range of the pixel of each color constituting a color filter and satisfying the color characteristics of the EBU standard which is difficult to realize with existing materials. SOLUTION: The color liquid crystal display is equipped with a color filter and a back light unit using a three-wavelength region emission fluorescent lamp as a light source. The color filter consists of transparent color films of a plurality of colors arranged as patterned on a substrate to color the incident light to exit, and at least one of a plurality of the transparent color films essentially consists of a color polymerized product obtained by polymerizing a dye monomer expressed by formula (1). The distribution I(λ) for the wavelength of the light intensity of the back light unit satisfies the condition of 0.35<=α<=0.6, whereinαis defined by formula (2) (λis the wavelength, and-x(λ),-y(λ) and z(λ) are color matching function).</p> |
