<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a flat cable with enhanced waterproofing. SOLUTION: An FPC 10 has a terminal conductor 16 for an electrical path 12, which is designed to bend perpendicularly, formed integrally with a mounting frame 17. The opposite surfaces of a housing 30 and cover 40 respectively have seal rings 37 and 42 attached thereto. The cover 40 is provided with an insertion hole plate 44 projected from the upper edge of the cover 40, where an insertion hole 45 is formed to receive the terminal conductor part 16 of FPC 10 before bent. The cover 40 has four corners each provided with a lock piece 55 caught by a corresponding lock projection 58 provided on each of the four sides of the housing 30. The upper lock piece 55A is projected from the inlet edge 45A of the inside of the insertion hole 45. The four sides are provided with lock mechanisms without interfering with FPC 10, while almost the rectangular region including the mounting frame 17 is firmly sealed all around by seal rings 37 and 42.</p> |
