PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of stored coated optical fibers by improving a method for holding the coated optical fibers, and simultaneously to easily cope with increasing and decreasing of the number and also to improve assembling work efficiency. SOLUTION: Coated optical fibers 4 are arranged between aligning projected parts 11a, 11b and aligning/pressure receiving projected parts 15 existing in both ends of a columnar core metal 1 and are fixed by adhesives 8, 9. The core metal 1 is inserted into the internal part of a cylindrical external conductor 2, and a solder 5 is filled around the fiber parts 4a, i.e., in a solder-filling part 7 to be sealed airtightly. The coated optical fiber airtight terminal is fixed, by welding the outer peripheral wall of a ring part 21 to the partition of a submarine repeater body. |
