SUBSTANCE: transformer winding has primary and secondary multilayer coils of superconducting wire whose adjacent uniformly wound turns and adjacent layers are respectively spaced apart. Novelty is that space between every adjacent layers equals distance between adjacent turns which is found from equations: b = td, where d is diameter of superconductor; W is total number of winding turns; a is width of channel between superconducting windings; n2 is number of turns in layer; n1 is number of layers; t is turn pitch.
