PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a distance image having no mismatching region. SOLUTION: A floodlight 3 irradiates an aperiodic floodlight pattern to an object 1. A standard camera 4 photographs a standard image. A reference camera 5 photographs a reference image. Inter-image correspondence circuits 6, 7 determine a parallax between the standard image and the reference image. A distance image production circuit 8 produces the distance image by using the parallax. A replacement circuit 11 replaces a mismatching region of the distance image in the state where the floodlight pattern is irradiated with a corresponding part of the distance image in the state where the floodlight pattern is not irradiated.
