Powder pressing device comprises a mold (10) with a non-magnetic section and a magnetic section with a through-hole extending through the two sections; a magnetic core (12a) having an outer periphery lying over the inner wall of the hole of the mold; a lower stamp (14) which is introduced into a hollow chamber from below; an upper stamp (16) inserted into the hollow chamber from above; a powder charging device for filling the hollow chamber with a magnetic powder; a magnetic field generator; and controlling devices. An Independent claim is also included for a process for producing a molded part made of a rare earth metal alloy using the pressing mold. Preferred Features: The rare earth alloy powder consists of a R-T-(M)-B alloy (where, R = Y, La, CE, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm or Lu; T = Fe and/or Co; M = an additional element; and B = boron).
