<p>The method of monitoring network access comprises the steps of comparing terms received by a user terminal (20) to a predetermined list of terms to determine the existence of one or more matching terms, formulating a message (35) which includes the matching terms, transmitting the message (35) to a monitoring terminal (30), and waiting for a response from the monitoring terminal. A timer (91) may be used to limit response time by the monitoring terminal (30). Alternative embodiments include providing the message (35) on an alert/triggered basis, a query/demand basis, or a periodic/timed basis. The invention also includes a network (10) adapted to monitor server (55) access activity comprising a control module (hardware or software program) (80); a user terminal (20), a memory (90), and a message interface (40), all in electronic communication with the control module (80). The network (10) also includes a monitoring terminal (30) in electronic communication with the message interface (40). The interface (40) is adapted to send terms, including network server addresses accessed by the user terminal (20) and recorded in the memory (90), to the monitoring terminal (30). The invention may also include a network (10) having a server (55) connected to a monitored client (22) and a monitoring client (32) with a first and second communications interface (23, 33) respectively, such as a WAN or PLMN.</p> |
