The objective of the present invention is to provide: an optical film having an optically anisotropic layer that exhibits excellent durability; a polarizing plate using this optical film; and an image display device. An optical film according to the present invention comprises at least an optically anisotropic layer which is obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable liquid crystal composition containing a specific liquid crystalline compound and a polymerization initiator, and which has an extrapolated glass transition initiation temperature of 70°C or more.
