The invention relates to the field of metallurgy, and specifically to holding furnaces having electromagnetic mixers for melting and holding molten metal, particularly aluminum. The technical result of the invention consists in effectively mixing molten metal throughout the entire volume of a reservoir, in strengthening the hearth of the holding furnace, in decreasing expenditures related to inductor installation and in extending the service life of the holding furnace. The aim and result are achieved in the claimed holding furnace, which contains: at least one reservoir having side walls and a bottom; at least one heater for heating the molten and/or solid metal located in the reservoir; and an inductor of an electromagnetic mixer, having a magnetic circuit and a winding, the inductor being installed in the vicinity of the reservoir so as to apply an electromagnetic field to the metal located in the reservoir, distinguished in that the inductor of the electromagnetic mixer contains at least two open magnetic circuits, each of which has at least one coil disposed thereon, wherein the magnetic circuits are positioned in such a way that the end surfaces thereof are maximally close to the bottom (hearth) of the holding furnace. |
