PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain aβ-phthalocyanine pigment which is greenish, clear, and excellent in coloring power. SOLUTION: This production method forβ-phthalocyanine pigment comprises the first step of obtaining anα-crystal-containing grinding product by dry grinding a crude metal phthalocyanine and the second step of obtaining aβ- phthalocyanine pigment by exposing the grinding product in the copresence of water and an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol.
