PURPOSE: A motion converting system for hermetic compressor is provided to obtain an optimally assembled system and improve compressor efficiency by forming an interference avoid groove at the balance weight of the crank shaft. CONSTITUTION: A motion converting system comprises a crank shaft(20) having an eccentric pin(24) arranged at the top of the crank shaft in such a manner as to be eccentric from the rotation center of the crank shaft; a piston(40) reciprocating in a linear fashion by the converted rotary motion of the crank shaft; and a connecting rod(30) having an end connected to the eccentric pin of the crank shaft and the other end connected to the piston, and which converts the rotary motion of the crank shaft into the linear reciprocating motion of the piston. The crank shaft has an interference avoid groove(26) formed along the circumference of the base of the eccentric pin of the crank shaft so as to avoid interference with the connecting rod.
