<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for knowing how much an image is made worse and/or sharp by MTF of an intermediate processing stage so that sharpening of optimum level is applied to an image when the image is displayed. SOLUTION: This digital image processing method has a stage for embedding a delta function in a digital image, a stage for applying an intermediate process stage with a modulating transforming function(MTF) of blurring an image to the digital image, a stage for deriving a delta function from the processed digital image, and a stage for estimating the MTF from the extracted delta function. A sharpening filter which is substantially reverse to the MTF is generated and applied to an image having blurred to generate an improved image, thereby removing a blur from the image.</p> |
