Debris is flushed out of the gap using air supplied via a compressed air channel system (8-8) in at least one of the machine parts (3). At least some of the compressed air channels exit at nozzles (12-12) which are separated in the tangential and radial directions and include a means for generating segment-shaped air jets inside the gap.
