PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability of a spur and to keep image quality by preventing dirt onto a recording surface. SOLUTION: This sheet discharging device comprises a discharge roller 8, a spur 9 driven by the discharge roller 8 by pressure connection, and a spur cleaner 12 for the spur 9. A foreign matter inserting part 90 recessed toward the rotation center of the spur 9 is formed in a bottom 9b between adjacent teeth of the spur 9, for a tooth tip slop of the adjacent teeth. Thus, a foreign matter such as ink or paper powder can be accumulated onto a foreign matter insert part 90.
