<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a fully optical inverter usable for a digital fully optical logic element, an analog fault in a long distance optical transmission system, a wavelength converter, etc., used in a wavelength division multiplex(WDM) exchange system. SOLUTION: A fully optical inverter device uses an optical amplifier having an optical filter arranged in a feedback loop arranged so that the output signal of the optical amplifier having a first characteristic wavelength is inversely proportional to the input signal of the optical amplifier. The fully optical inverter device outputs the optical signal of the first characteristic wavelength in the case of not receiving an optical signal in an input, and the fully optical inverter device outputs a null signal in the case of receiving an optical signal having the second characteristic wavelength at least slightly different from the first characteristic wavelength.</p> |
