<p>A component carrier for an electronic component, said component carrier being made in one piece of a metal sheet material and provided with means for surface mounting on a printed circuit board (PCB) and with holding flanges (2a, 2b) for holding an electronic component. The component carrier has a base (1) provided with a central soldering platform for surface mounting on the PCB.
