PURPOSE: An authoring apparatus and method for making out multimedia files is provided to easily make out a source file for multimedia products to regenerate graphic files, audio files and text files using a multimedia file format. CONSTITUTION: A writing apparatus for making out multimedia files is provided with a graphic file input part(110), a consecutive image list preparation part(112), a graphic regeneration part(114), an audio file input part(120), an audio regeneration part(122), a text file input part(130), a test alignment part(132), and a text regeneration part(134). The graphic file input part(110), the consecutive image list preparation part(112) and the graphic regeneration part(114) are provided to edit graphic files. The audio file input part(120) and the audio regeneration part(122) are provided to edit audio files. The text file input part(130), the text alignment part(132) and the text regeneration part(134) are provided to edit text files. In addition, the writing apparatus is comprised of a control signal generation part(140), a storage part(150), a multimedia file generation part(160), and a simulator(180). The control signal generation part(140) controls the operation timing of the regeneration parts. The storage part(150) stores the output of the regeneration parts.
