PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit applicable to an electronic apparatus which has no CPU, and detect the reverse insertion of a battery, even when a CPU is not in operating condition in an electronic apparatus with a built-in CPU. SOLUTION: First potential detecting means (611 and 616) detect a first potential (VH) between a power supply terminal (20a) and an intimidated junction (20c) between a plurality of batteries. Second potential detecting means (612 and 617) detect a second potential (VL) between a grounding terminal (20b) and the intermediate junction. A first comparison means (626) compares the first potential with prescribed threshold voltage (VHS), and when the first potential is lower than the prescribed threshold voltage, it outputs a first detection signal. A second comparison means (627) compares the second potential with a prescribed threshold voltage(VL), and when the second potential is lower than the prescribed threshold voltage, it outputs a second detection signal. Composition means (635 and 640) composes the first detection signal and the second detection signal and outputs a battery reverse insertion detection signal.
