PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical capacitor which can improve the strength reliability and airtightness of its package and, at the same time, can contribute to resistance and weight reduction of electrode terminals. SOLUTION: This electrochemical capacitor is constituted in such a way that at least one laminated body in which polarizable electrodes 2 and 3 formed by using a carbon material as a chief material are respectively set up on paired current collecting bodies made of a metallic material and an electronic insulating separator is sandwiched between the polarizable electrodes is sealed in the package 60 in a state where the laminated body is dipped in an organic or inorganic electrolytic solution. The electrodes 2 and 3 are housed in the package 60 and the electrode terminals 2 and 3 are stuck to the internal surface of the package 60 except their connecting sections 4 and 5 which are used for connecting the terminals 2 and 3 to an external circuit.
