PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping mechanism capable of stepwise varying the moving speed of a closing door or the like as necessary. SOLUTION: The damping mechanism comprises a damper body 1 having incorporated therein a damper mechanism and having a rotating shaft 3 projecting therefrom; a plurality of pinions 4 and 5 having different diameters, provided on the rotating shaft 3; and a plurality of racks 7 and 8 for meshing with the pinions. |
