PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a checkered steel plate having an extra-low carbon series steel composition and satisfying both of strength and adhesion of scale. SOLUTION: This checkered steel plate is composed of extra-low carbon steel containing, by weight, <=0.01% C, <=0.5% Si and <=0.08% P, and in which Si, Mn and P satisfy the relation of 86×Si+35×Mn+1,000×P>=40 (wherein Si denotes the weight % of Si, Mn denotes the weight % of Mn, and P denotes the weight % of P).
