PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device having a tray of a large capacity capable of reducing frequency of removing paper sheets on the tray while preventing collapse of the paper sheets piled on the tray. SOLUTION: Paper sheets of different sizes can be discharged on the tray 22 freely before the stuck tray 22 comes down to a position to be detected by a mixed pile limit sensor 26. After the tray 22 is detected by the mixed pile limit sensor 26, only paper sheets of a size which is stably piled up with respect to the size of the topmost paper sheet lying on the tray 22 is allowed to be discharged.
