PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic cell with the compressive strength to withstand a high pressure and with the high sealability between the composed elements. SOLUTION: This electrolytic cell has solid electrolyte membranes (2), electrode plates (4) provided on both sides of the membranes (2) and feeders (5) each interposed between the membranes (2) and electrode plates (4). Recessed grooves (11) are formed close to the peripheral parts of the electrode plates (4) to arrange sealing members (7), and the members (7) are so formed that the specified part of each member (7) is expanded inside and outside of the cell from the groove (11) when the electrode plates (4) are layered through the member (7). |
