PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing member which stabilizes the electrostatic chargeability to toners, satisfies the strength as a surface layer material and does not contaminate other members to be brought into contact therewith by the bleeding materials of the surface in development using negative charge type toners. SOLUTION: The developing device for visualizing the electrostatic latent image formed on an electrostatic latent image carrying member by a developer is provided with the developing member of which at least the surface consists of a resin layer essentially consisting of a resin formed by crosslinking solvent soluble-copolymer nylon and a crosslinking agent by using a catalyst and which is <=5% in a weight decrease rate after impregnating the resin layer into methanol for 24 hours at room temperature and drying the same.
