PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a font size of character strings to be described in specific regions in images. SOLUTION: A font of the character string is set to a predetermined size (S601). The character string is divided to tokens (S603). The tokens are bound from a head (S607) and a length of the bound tokens is calculated on the basis of the set size. When the length of the bound tokens does not exceed a width of the region, an additional token is bound to the bound tokens. When the length of the bound tokens exceeds the width of the region, the most recently added token is subtracted from the bound tokens (S611) and the subtracted token is set to be a starting position of a new line in the region. When the starting position of the new line is outside the region, the font of the character string is set to be a smaller size.
