PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording head which can improve ink discharge characteristics. SOLUTION: On a channel formation substrate 1 formed by cutting a silicon single crystal substrate into a predetermined shape, there are set pressure generation chambers 4 for storing ink discharged from nozzle openings 2, ink supply ports 8 through which ink is supplied to the pressure generation chambers 4, an elastic plate 11 for constituting part of inner wall faces to partition the pressure generation chambers 4, and piezoelectric elements 12 for deforming the elastic plate 11 thereby changing an ink pressure in the pressure generation chambers 4. The pressure generation chamber 4 is formed to the side of a front face of the channel formation substrate 1, including a wide part 5 having a larger width than a width of the piezoelectric element 12 and a narrow part 6 formed penetrating between a bottom face of the wide part 5 and a rear face of the channel formation substrate 1 to have a smaller width than the width of the wide part 5. The narrow part 6 includes a penetrating part 9 of the upstream side which is formed to the side of the ink supply port 8 and a penetrating part 10 of the downstream side which is formed to the side of the nozzle opening 2.
