PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting a seal member which can improve the functions of a cut seal and its sticking work properties. SOLUTION: The method has tension application process in which prescribed tension is applied to the seal member 100 in the feeding direction of the member 100; a cutting process in which the seal member is cut over the whole width in the width wise direction crossing at right angles to the feeding direction with release paper 3 left, while the tension is applied to the member 100; and a lifting process in which the tension is lifted, and a cut surface with a given inclination to the thickness direction is formed in the member 100.
