PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform range finding in accordance with the conditions of a subject in a range finding area without using photometric information of a covered field. SOLUTION: In this range finder for measuring the distance to the subject by an optical trigonometric survey method by receiving the light from the subject by means of a charge-storage type photoelectric transducing means with the subject irradiated with auxiliary light when necessary, the conditions for the range finding are set each time the range is found without using photometric information of the covered field. This enables the range to be found in accordance with the conditions of the subject in the range finding area. Photometering is not required before the range is found, thus increasing the flexibility of a photographing sequence. |
