PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain gas oil composition capable of extremely reducing an exhaust of environmental pollution substances when using for a high performanced and electronic controlled diesel engine, and exhibiting an excellent fuel efficiency and engine output. SOLUTION: This gas oil composition is characterized in that the sulfur content is <=0.005 mass %, distillation properties satisfy a relation of formula (1) T50+T70+T90+T95<1,170 (1) [T50, T70, T90 and T95 are 50 vol.% distillation temperature ( deg.C), 70 vol.% distillation temperature ( deg.C), 90 vol.% distillation temperature ( deg.C) and 95 vol.% distillation temperature ( deg.C), respectively] and aromatic components satisfy a relation of formula (2) 10<=(1-Arom)+5×(2-Arom)+10×(3-Arom)<=45 (2) [1-Arom is a monocyclic aromatic component content (vol.%), 2-Arom is a bicyclic aromatic component content (vol.%) and 3-Arom is a tricyclic aromatic component content (vol.%), respectively].
