MIXED ALCOHOL FOR PRODUCING PLASTICIZER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PLASTICIZER USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mixed alcohols for producing plasticizers which have the same plasticizer performances as those of general purpose plasticizers such as di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate and can give resin compositions having excellent viscosity stability when stored as plastisols, and so on, and to provide a method for producing the plasticizer using the same. SOLUTION: The mixed alcohols characterized by comprising 80 to 99. 4 wt.% of 2-ethylhexanol and 20 to 0. 6 wt.% of 2-ethyl-4-methylpentanol and used for producing plasticizers, and the method for producing the plasticizer, characterized by esterifying a carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid anhydride with the mixed alcohols.
