PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for efficiently decomposing an organic substance contained in sewage to clean sewage in a circulating type sewage treatment apparatus and regenerating certainly decolored treated water to utilize the same. SOLUTION: Highly concentrated ozone gas with an ozone content of 10-20 wt.% is blown in sewage to directly decompose an organic substance and coloring matter to efficiently decolor and clean sewage and, further, the amount of dissolved oxygen in sewage is increased to activate microorganisms to enhance cleaning capacity. A water electrolyzing type ozone generation cell is used in the formation of highly concentrated ozone gas to also contribute to the space saving and cost reduction of the whole sewage treatment apparatus.
